Public Lecture: Earth, Wind, Fire, and Climate Change: What’s the Future for Our Northern Forests and Communities?
Wednesday, October 6th, 4:30pm
Room 2011 (Upper Lecture Theater), University Centre, Lakehead University (map)

Dr. Peter Reich, Regents Professor, Department of Forest Resources, University of Minnesota will discuss his work on the Boreal Forest Resilience Project. The question is how the forests and people of the “northland” might be affected by current climate change. Dr. Reich will talk about key ecological issues today and in the future.  The focus will then turn towards human communities, and how their future and that of the natural areas are interlinked.  More questions will be raised than answers given.
